The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) & Singapore Football in the 1960s

The AFC serves as the coordinating body for football in Asia and it administers over 40 footballing nations and territories.

Tunku Abdul Rahman, the 1st Prime Minister of Malaya/Malaysia, was President of AFC from 1958 to the 70s.

It was really awesome to find this old AFC photo from 1959 and a souvenir programme from the 4th Merdeka Cup in 1961...

Souvenir programme from the 4th Merdeka Cup, hosted by the Football Association of Malaya. The Merdeka Cup is an annual football tournament that commemorates the independence of Malaysia.
